Mayor Lenny Curry proposes long-term funding solution to Jacksonville's infrastructure needs This morning, Mayor Lenny Curry announced plans for the "Jobs for Jax" program. The "Jobs for Jax" program, in partnership with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), would address transportation and infrastructure needs with a $.06 cent increase to the Local Option Gas Tax (LOGT). This proposed tax would fund nearly $1 billion in projects to improve railways, fix drainage issues and create jobs. The City and JTA would evenly split the $.06 increase. "With these funds, we will move quickly to begin work on as many transportation projects in the Capital Improvements Plan as we can, which means more construction jobs, safer and better-quality roads, and more economic opportunities for our neighborhoods," said Mayor Curry.
