Description
My philosophy is "Everything I ever needed to know about business I learned on the sports field." From Behind The Scoreboard, I feature the sports stories that tell us much more than simply who won or lost. These personal and inspiring experiences of grade school, high school, college, other amateur and even pro athletes allow all of us to reflect a little more on what is important in life. ~ James C. Metzger, Chairman and CEO, The Whitmore Agency

Empowering The Girls Of Long Island
The girls of Long Island have great friends at Girls on the Run. The organization delivers a physical, activity-based and positive youth development program for girls from third to eighth grades.
Programs develop and improve competence, raise confidence, develop strength of character, teach about responding to others and themselves with care, creating positive connections with peers and adults, and positively contributing to community and society.
The growing program for Nassau and Suffolk counties needs adult volunteers, too.
