Indoor Mass at St. John the Baptist School Gym. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, all masses are subject to cancellation. Arrive by 9:30 am at the Kearney Street school gate for check-in. In order to retain your seat, attendees must check-in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the Mass. Please bring a face covering that covers your nose and mouth. Upon arrival, you will be screened for your temperature below 100.4˚ F and asked to sanitize your hands. All restrooms will be locked. To keep the solemnity of the Mass, and because of the required screening before admission, we will close the gate 5 minutes after the start of Mass and not admit any person who arrives thereafter. Indoor Mass Protocols The following Mass Protocols will govern our public, Indoor Mass in the middle of this terrible pandemic. They are largely based on rules promulgated by The Diocese of Oakland Protocol for Resuming Public Masses (October 1st Update) (referred to as “Diocese Protocol”), distributed by Bishop Barber, on October 1, 2020, at the recommendation of the Diocesan Office of Worship, with the assistance of the Pastor’s Task Force. You should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to Mass at the Kearney Street school gate. Each person will be directed to their assigned spot.At 15 minutes before Mass, waitlisted and non-registered people will be screened and admitted.In order to retain your seat, attendees must check-in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the Mass.Chairs will be provided in designated spots that are 6 feet apart between households. To keep the solemnity of the Mass, and because of the required screening before admission, we will close the gate 5 minutes after the start of Mass and not admit any person who arrives thereafter.You will have your temperature checked. Only those with a temperature below 100.4˚ F will be admitted.You must sanitize your hands upon entry.You must wear a face mask (if 3 years and older) and cover your mouth and nose at ALL times, except when receiving holy communion.You must keep a social distance (at least 6 feet away from others).No public restrooms are available.The Sign of Peace will be omitted.The Precious Blood will not be offered.Refrain from congregating before and after Mass.You must remain in your seat until the conclusion of the Mass.Holy Communion will be distributed at its normal time within the Mass.The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Masses continues until further notice. Screening Questions Per the Diocese Protocol, you are advised to stay home if your answer is YES to any of the following questions (where you can watch the livestream on the parish website or Facebook page): Are you 65 years or older, or have any underlying health condition?Have you experienced any of these symptoms in the last 14 days?* Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, DiarrheaHave you been in close contact or cared for someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days?Have you traveled to, reside, or work in areas with disproportionately higher COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days?Have you been exposed to a person suspected of having Covid-19 in the past 14 days?Have you been directed to be under quarantine by any public health agency or Primary Care Provider in the past 14 days?Each person MUST be pre-registered, including children. This is to comply with the 100 person-maximum rule. To prevent from turning people away please register as we cannot guarantee a spot without a ticket.
