Greetings! I am a songwriter, multi instrumentalist. My wife and I write and perform music together. I have recorded many cds of our music and others, (used to run my own studio) However.... i am getting worn out of wearing so many hats. I have an album worth of songs and would like to find the right engineer/producer in Sacramento area. I could call one of the studios and might do that, but they can be pretty expensive in the end and I know we can do a ton with a laptop, interface and mics. I will pay for your time, but as this will be a very im depth project i don't wanna pay studio rates. Hoping for a mix of cash and trade. For a win/win. You must have some experience recording and have completed a few projects. We may send tracks off to get mixed and mastered and thats fine, i need someone to set levels, hit record, keep things organized etc. You don't have to be a pro, just competent with your software and have GOOD VIBEZ ONLY! This album will be somewhere in the style of elton john, billie joel, van morrison etc. Love songs, heartfelt songs about life. Bonus if you are a multi-instrumentalist as well. We could use my place and most of my gear if you have a laptop. Or if you have a good space I can come to you (or a mix of both) we can start with one song and go from there. Maybe meet up in a neutral place first or facetime. I'd like to do sessions 1 or 2 a week foe a few hours. So...... send me an email. If you have links to your work thats super helpful. Other things I want to know. -what feels fair for an hourly rate for a long term project. -what software/hardware do you use? -can you play instruments? -do you have piano/drumset/and way to record those well.
