Description
PALM SPRINGS, CA — An injured hiker, who told authorities he fell three to five days ago and had been stranded ever since, was rescued Thursday from a hillside near Palm Springs by a helicopter crew.
A call came in at 8:12 a.m. that an injured hiker had been discovered by a passerby near Tahquitz Falls, according to the Palm Springs Fire Department.
Capt. Nathan Gunkel said the hiker called out to the reporting party, who then contacted first responders. A helicopter crew responded and hoisted him off the hillside.
The man, whose name and age were not provided, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries described as minor.
