CBS Philadelphia March 18, 2021 More than 24 hours after a deadly shooting spree in Georgia that killed eight people, including six women of Asian descent, the Philadelphia community came together Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil to honor the victims of anti-Asian violence. The violence adds to the growing concern in Asian-American neighborhoods. People made a point to come out and support the Asian community. The Center for the Study on Hate and Extremism at California State University reports that crimes targeting Asian Americans have risen dramatically since the beginning of the pandemic.
