JOLIET, IL — A 37-year-old Joliet man with a loaded gun, cocaine and marijuana was arrested early Thursday morning following an argument inside a car parked along North Chicago Street, police reports show.
Joliet officers hauled Dontra Loggins to the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a convicted felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of controlled substances, having no FOID and unlawful marijuana possession by a driver.
Joliet police went to North Chicago and Irving Streets around 3:10 a.m. after someone dialed 911 and gave dispatchers their address, and then hung up.
Police found a car stopped in the road. According to police, Loggins was the driver and a woman was in the passenger seat.
The woman had called police following an argument with him, reports show.
"While speaking to Loggins, officers detected a strong odor of cannabis coming from within the vehicle," Joliet police reports show. "Officers recovered a loaded firearm, cocaine, and cannabis. Loggins was placed into custody without incident."
Loggins was booked into the Will County Jail shortly before 6 a.m. He lives in the 1000 block of Charlesworth Avenue.
