I was able to identify her deep underlying triggers. This then allowed me to better “set the table” for the conversation and it changed the outcome of the conversation. I felt heard and understood by my mother. Past similar conversations like this, she would react, and I would get defensive and the conversation would stop with no resolution. I no longer fear initiating difficult conversations with my mom!” – Fran Bailey (Lead Business Analyst - Mid Atlantic Farm Credit) “The enneagram is a fantastic way to get to know you're whole true self- the good, the bad, the ugly. We'd all love to say that we constantly operate in our highest vibration, but the fact simply is, we do not. The enneagram is a great way to recognize what level we're operating on in any given circumstance and can give us a clear path to raising our vibration. Knowing myself on this deeper level helps me understand who I am under the trauma of life and has helped me identify the next steps in my healing. Sharing my discoveries with my therapist has reinforced the work I do with her and has given us a better understanding of the person I'm trying to return too. I'm excited to continue to incorporate the enneagram into my personal growth and development.” Sarah Popovich (Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch) Benefits: • Increases self-awareness, and emotional intelligence leading to a healthier relationship with yourself which then translates into healthier relationships with others. • Increases effectiveness in communication and reduces conflict through a common language to understand varying personalities. • Increases teamwork by knowing each person’s Strengths, Values, Desires. and underlying Motivations for action and decision making. Description of Topics: Self-Awareness: It is the first step to any change in behavior that is desired. There are three levels of self-awareness and most individuals only ever reach the first level. Most relationship challenges are due to a lack of awareness at the second and third levels. 3 Centers of Intelligence: You were born using your three intelligence centers. They are your mental, emotional and body intelligence. During childhood one center of intelligence felt most vulnerable and a pattern of protecting this intelligence center got formed. The lack of use of this intelligence center is what makes life difficult and hard. The invitation is to bring this intelligence back into your life so that life and work can be easier. Stances Toward Life: Understand your “orientation to time” and the natural stance you take towards life. Levels of Development: Identify when you are in the healthy, average, or unhealthy space of your personality Stress and Security Patterns: You have one pattern of behavior that you display in public life, another pattern of behavior when you are feeling secure, and a final pattern of behavior when you are feeling stressed. You will learn to recognize what triggers these patterns. Enneagram: is a unique tool for understanding and explaining human behavior and the underlying motives that drive the behavior. When properly used it helps you wake up to your unconscious and repetitive patterns that direct your beliefs, emotions and behavior. Of all the self-discovery tools and personality assessments that exist, the Enneagram is set apart from other typing systems because it has you examine the “why” behind your behaviors. For example, everyone struggles with wanting to control aspects of life. Different personalities want to control for very different reasons. Some do not want to feel pain, others don’t want to feel incorrect, or weak, or unsuccessful to name just a few. Some organizations have created a computerized assessment that can be taken. Assessments, however, do not measure your motive they can only measure your behaviors. Often these assessments wrongfully mistype people. Only you, as an individual, can truly conclude your personality number by understanding your motives. During the training you will be given numerous exercises to help you arrive at your type by more deeply understanding your “why” behind your actions. Enneagram History: Some theories have it that the Enneagram has been around for close to 2000 years. Up until the turn of the century it was largely an oral tradition that was passed down from a teacher to an apprenticing student through one on one interaction. Georges Gurdjieff a Russian (born in 1866) was the first to put this wisdom tool into writing in the early 1900’s. In the 1940’s Gurdjieff started a school for spiritual practices in a house in England. In addition to spiritual principles George also taught the Enneagram. Oscar Ichazo and Claudio Naranjo, both of whom were from different parts of South America traveled to England and were students of Gurdjieff. In the 1970’s Claudio Naranjo brought the Enneagram to the United States. Don Richard Riso, Helen Palmer and Richard Rohr are some of the individuals responsible for its widespread interest in the US. There are No Refunds.
