This is such a long shot but posting just in case - a few days ago we put out some furniture in North Redondo before our new stuff came. Someone came and picked up the dresser, which we were glad about because it was pretty nice and we didn't want it to end up being hauled off by garbage. The next day I realized that I hadn't emptied it completely, and it had a few papers from my Grandpa in it. They're worth nothing but everything. I can't believe I forgot to pull them out. Kicking myself. There is probably like a 0.0000001% chance that it was the husband/father in law/uncle/etc of someone in this group but I guess crazier things have happened. Any chance it ended up with one of you???
