STEM Exploration Camp – 3rd-5th Grade

Day 1: WeDo 2.0 Maker
LEGO® WeDo 2.0 Maker camp will engage and motivate elementary school students, piquing their interest in learning design, engineering, and coding using motorized models and simple programming. Lessons provide an initial starting point with open-ended prompts allowing for unlimited answers and enabling students to express a wide range of creative solutions as they sketch, build, and test prototypes of the designs they create. Maker design topics include dancing robot, life hack and sound machine.
Days 2 & 3: Simple Machines Maker
LEGO® Simple Machines Maker camp will teach campers how to follow a design process. Campers will work in small groups to define the problem, brainstorm, and identify a design criterion before making a solution. All creations will be presented teaching campers the importance of communication and feedback. Maker design topics include a digital accessory, mascot, cartoon, amusement park ride, and many more.
Days 4 & 5: WeDo 2.0 Science
LEGO® WeDo 2.0 Science camp will explore the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces, the factors of future motion, and building characteristics while focusing on scientific knowledge. Campers will be taught to define the problem, ask questions, develop models, plan and carry out investigations, and analyze the results. This will be done in a teamwork environment.
