A FREE IN-PERSON CE EVENT for LICSW, LMHC, and LMFT to learn how Equine Therapy can enrich the clinical experience for their clients. SPONSORED BY SIERRA TUCSON AVIV ( www.AVIV.life ) presents this naturally socially distanced experiential event allowing professionals to safely connect face-to-face and learn new clinical skills. This introductory course is designed for those who are interested in exploring ways to incorporate Animal Assisted Psychotherapy into their clinical practice. This course includes a live experiential demonstration of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, exploration of ethical issues in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy, and review of the research supporting Animal Assisted Psychotherapy. This is an introductory/ beginner level course with 4 FREE CE issued to attendees who complete the presentation. Presented by Debra Madera, M.Ed., LMHC and Andrew Lapin, M.S.,M.A.,LMHC the originators of American Farm Based Therapy. With more than forty years of combined professional experience, this dynamic team has toured the region and the country training clinicians on how to expand their therapeutic practices to include Animal Assisted Psychotherapy . Both presenters have been trained and certified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy from the Equine Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) the international standard for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy certification and training. AGENDA: Schedule: 9:30 Check-in and review social distance and safety expectations for the day. 10:00-11:00 Review of literature and current Equine Assisted Psychotherapy programs nationally 11:00-11:15 Break 11:15-12:15 Live experiential demonstration of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy 12:15- 1:00 Lunch PROVIDED for FREE by SIERRA TUCSON 1:00-2:00 How to integrate into clinical practice and make appropriate referrals to different levels of care Learning Objectives: a. Participants will be able to demonstrate actionable knowledge on how to integrate Animal Assisted Psychotherapy into their own clinical practice. b. Participants will be able to list the various clinical interventions applicable to common issues treated via Animal Assisted Psychotherapy. c. Participants will be able to create treatment plans for clients utilizing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
