This course provides a basic overview of the LGBTQIA population and explores treatment related issues.
For 2021, this is PENDING approved for 6.0 CEs with the KY Board of LPC, Psychology, SW, and ADC. Certificates with approved CEs will be provided after the class.
This course provides a basic overview of the LGBTQIA population and explores treatment related issues. The training will provide both novice and experienced clinicians an in-depth knowledge base of the intrapersonal issues facing this clientele. The issues of cultural competency, transference and countertransference, stigma, and internalized homophobia and how they affect the treatment relationship will be explored. Participants will have an opportunity to become aware of the relational, emotional, social, and political stressors and vulnerabilities that effect this client population.
At this time the April class will be held via Zoom. You will be sent instructions after you register for the class.
