The Woodlands Area Youth Symphony takes their talent to Tomball, TX performing a concert of Korean, Peruvian, British and American Music. For the first time, the Woodlands Area Youth Symphony (WAYS) will journey from their hometown of The Woodlands in fulfilling a special part of their mission. The group is called to encompass the region that surrounds The Woodlands including Conroe, Montgomery, Willis, Spring, Klein, Oak Ridge and Tomball. On March 25th, the spacious 4 Corners Conference Center in Tomball will host the orchestra with doors opening at 6:30 pm. General Admission seating is only $10 for this program of enteraining and educational music. Founding Director Darryl Bayer will lead the group in a concert that takes the audience around the world. First stop, south of border to Peru with a hypnotic arrangement of El Condor Pasa. Next is a journey to the east as the orchestra performs Variations on a Korean Folk Song by John Barnes Chance. Western classical music is represented by the British composer Sir Edward Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March in D major. Back in the USA, the orchestra will perform A Salute to the Big Bands to conclude the concert. Tickets must be purchased at Eventbrite. The orchestra will be masked and socially distanced along with our expectation that the audience will do so too.
