SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Max Anderson Pegnato, of Swampscott, has been named to the President's List for the 2020 fall semester at Elon University. The President's List is composed of students with no grade below an A-minus in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Pegnato is the son of Mr. Michael D. Pegnato and Ms. Stephanie Anderson of Swampscott. In honor of their outstanding academic achievement, Emmanuel College in Boston has named more than 900 students to the Dean's List for the Fall 2020 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester. Local students receiving the honor include: Julia Rapisarda and Ugne Kurdeikaite. Carter Segal, of Swampscott, is one of 10 Pingree School students proceeding to the DECA State Career Development Conference (SCDC) after a strong performance at the virtual MASS DECA District 3 Career Development Conference held at the end of January 2021. More than 800 students from 13 schools competed at the district level. DECA faculty advisor Bob Ogden, Pingree director of information systems, noted: "I am so proud of all of the students who competed this year. We had a record number of participants and we hope to build on that for next year." (Patch is looking to recognize Swampscott students who have gone on to succeed athletically and academically at colleges or universities. Let us know their stories at [email protected].)
