Providence is calling an on-call Clinical Chaplain to Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center in Oregon City, Oregon. Coverage will include weekday evenings and nights and weekends. Monthly schedules vary and arranged in advance. We are seeking a Clinical Chaplain who will provide spiritual and emotional support, guidance, and crisis intervention to patients, their families, guests, volunteers, caregivers, and physicians. Other responsibilities include: ethical decision-making, documenting care and interactions with patients and their families. This position provides services as part of an on-call rotation for Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: •Provide emotional and spiritual care to those who are served by the health system and their families: Assess emotional and spiritual needs and ministers to those needs Give appropriate referral to other disciplines as necessary •Carry phone/pager and responds to emergencies and deaths as needed •Return pages within 10 minutes •Provide support to health care workers and volunteers in their efforts to deal with issues arising during the course of their work •Participate as an active member of both the health care team and Spiritual Care Services team •Provide leadership and celebrates rituals, blessings, religious services and sacramental ministry as appropriate •Maintain professional expertise through appropriate educational opportunities •Promptly documents care provided in the electronic health record according to department standards Required qualifications for this position includes: •Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity -OR- a related field •Certification by National Association of Catholic Chaplains (N.A.C.C.), Association of Professional Chaplains (A.P.C), National Association of Jewish Chaplains (N.A.J.C.), or Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (C.A.S.C.); certification eligible clinical chaplain candidates will be expected to complete their board certification within two (2) years of hire date Certification will be maintained as 'active status' as verified and tracked by the department Director •Documentation of current ecclesial endorsement or support of sponsoring religious group **For more information and to apply visit
