Wags Pet Resort wants to change pet care. If you've worked in the pet care industry and feel like there is a better way, you may be a good fit for our crew. Our full-service facilities (daycare, boarding, training, spa) in Sherwood and Tigard, OR, take a dog-first approach to our services. Our facilities are 100% positive, with no adverse techniques like squirt bottles or shock collars. We train our staff on dog psychology and behavior to actively manage playgroups. As a Lead Handler, you will work side-by-side with Wags management on creating a safe, enriching, and downright fun atmosphere for our dogs and their parents. You will be in charge of the play yards across the facility with up to 70 dogs during your shift and coordinate other handlers' work. You will work closely with our Dog Behavior group on identifying struggling dogs and implement enrichment plans to keep them centered and happy in playgroups. Compensation: $13.25 Plus Tips Supplemental Pay: Tips Core Responsibilities Oversee playgroups using all positive techniques and enrichment. Managing our playgroups is a very active process with lots of direct interaction with the animals. You won't be sitting down or on your phone – it is a very active job! Decide which dogs go into which group, advocate for, and communicate the needs of the dogs. Operational duties assigned by location manager and Director of Operations. Oversees the other staff in making sure that they are following instructions, policy, and procedures and taking point on customer service matters. Leads are responsible for dispensing medications to guests and the proper opening and closing of the facility. All candidates should Be comfortable being active on their feet during their shift, remaining aware, and engaged with our canine guests. Be punctual, with reliable transportation.
