COMPANY OVERVIEW: Since its establishment in 1991, Olson Environmental, LLC. (OE LLC) has completed nearly 2,000 natural resource-based projects in the Pacific Northwest. Projects completed by OE LLC include residential, commercial, and retail development as well as public works and transportation projects for local counties and cities. OE LLC offers a full range of wetland and wildlife services including wetland delineation, habitat assessments, mitigation planning, forest practices, timber management planning, technical writing, biological assessments, SEPA, JARPA, ESA compliance, and wetland/habitat restoration. OE LLC has prepared or assisted in the preparation of critical areas ordinances for the Cities of Washougal, La Center, Yacolt, and Winlock and environmental documents for Urban Growth Boundary expansion for LaCenter and Washougal. Additional services include GIS Analysis and GPS mapping. OBJECTIVE OF JOB: Provide support to Olson Environmental in the management of invasive/noxious weeds in natural space, various habitat restoration activities, including plant installation, irrigation installation, and site maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Implement various weed management control programs for a variety of sites, including sensitive habitats (i.e., wetlands). Apply herbicide using backpack sprayers and other appropriate application equipment. Work safely in rough terrain, inclement weather, and other environmental situations. Work extensively for long periods of time in various site conditions. Assist in various restoration activities, including native planting, and site maintenance. Represent the company as in a professional manner. EQUIPMENT USED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE JOB: Industrial mowers, brush cutters, hedger, herbicide applicator equipment, and ATV’s. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Job sites include uneven ground, steep slopes, exposure to extreme temperature. Frequent bending and squatting throughout the day. Carrying loads of 30-40 pounds for extended periods, with occasional lifting of heavy loads up to 90 pounds. BASIC REQUIRMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record. Experience with the safe operation of power tools. Enthusiasm for the protection of our natural resources. Ability to pass a background check and drug and alcohol screening test. Work both independently and as a member of our team. Ability to work long hours and overtime. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Detailed knowledge of local weed species and common native plants. Two years’ field experience in the management of noxious/invasive weeds Ability to drive safely pulling a trailer
