Hello! We're a small, locally owned distribution center looking for another shop hand. We are an industrial supply company that supports producers in their operations. We are looking for an entry-level warehouse worker to help us out! A warehouse worker has many duties. Warehouse workers work with heavy equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight from trucks and product around the warehouse. They must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, and work in hot or cold weather. The warehouse worker completes paperwork, ensures tasks are completed safely and on time, and must make decisions regarding the transfer of incoming and outgoing inventory. A warehouse worker should be alert, ambitious, hard-working, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions. We'll need you to be able to break down our product from large quantities into smaller quantities, package them, and prepare them for shipment. This is a manual labor position that will include (but is not limited to) the following: Collecting merchandise from the distribution center and safely transporting materials to the shipping bay Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping Managing all merchandise with appropriate care Assisting with training of newly employed workers Additionally, you will be required to follow all OSHA safety requirements (we will train you, don't sweat!). Our ideal candidate possesses the following characteristics: Prior experience working in a warehouse (not required - we are willing to train you!) Knowledge of operating a forklift (certification will be a requirement) Ability to work on feet for 8 hours and carry loads up to 80 pounds Ability to work independently and safely Must be dependable and timely.
