Austin Comedy Film Festival Spring 2021 is a live screenplay reading and film screening event May 14-16. Live screenplay readings will take place on Sunday May 16, 2021 at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Lakeline from 12:00p-3:00p. Attending screenwriters will team up with actors in advance to have one scene (max 10 pages) read from their screenplays in front of a live audience. We will have a screenwriters / actors networking meeting on Zoom on April 2, 2021 (LINK) to pair up screenwriters with actors that will be in Austin during the festival. Rehearsing, coaching and recruiting actors is the responsibility of the screenwriter, not the festival. This is an optional promotional event for screenplays that have been named official selections of Austin Comedy Film Festival Spring 2021. The tickets being sold on Eventbrite are only for the Live Screenplay Reading session on Sunday May 16, 2021. Twelve hours of independent film screenings will take place over two days, Friday May 14 and Saturday May 15. Tickets will soon be available on the Doc's Drive-In Theatre official website (LINK) and not listed here on Eventbrite.
