MIAMI, FL — Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava was given her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Miami's Tropical Park vaccination site Wednesday morning. She received the Pfizer-BioNTech brand vaccine at the park, which is a county-run vaccination site. Tropical Park is located at 7900 SW 40th Street in Miami. I am so greatly to everyone who's made this possible - our frontline workers, our nurses, our firefighters, our police officers, the scientists who invented this vaccine," Levine Cava said in a video she shared on Twitter Wednesday. "Truly life can begin to return to some normalcy and for me, personally, it means I can see my grandchildren and give them a big hug. I can't wait." As of Tuesday morning, more than 500,000 people have been vaccinated in Miami-Dade County, according to state data. Of those, more than 250,000 have completed the vaccination series of either a single or two doses.
