South Huntington Virtual Enterprise Team Advances To Nationals

SOUTH HUNTINGTON, NY — Walt Whitman High School's Virtual Enterprise team, LUKO, is headed to a national level of competition, according to the South Huntington School District. The team advanced to the National Round of the Business Plan Presentation, ensuring their top-32 standing, and will be competing in April for National placement. LUKO, instructed by Sandy Stueber, consists of 22 students who have been working together since September to build the LUKO business. The business plan presentation team for LUKO includes: Logan Bermudez, Jeremy Lanz, Jonathan Holleran, Aidan Gardner, Sebastian Koch and Matthew Desmond. Virtual Enterprise is a student-directed competition-based business simulation that allows students to create and run every aspect of a business, while also competing against 430 Virtual Enterprise companies in more than 20 regional, national, and global competitions throughout the year. Industry experts judge the students in a business plan competition. In addition to the presentation team, LUKO's members are Benjamin D'Agostino, BelendjyGeneus, Isaiah Holm, Devon Linden, Daniel DiLeo, Tejasveer Khera, Jordell Brown, DylanCellamare, James McGorry, Michael McIndoo, Anthony Mendoza, Jack Neiland, Jace Nerzig,Zack Reichhold, Stephen Ryan, and Kortney Wilkerson Ferguson. Each team member plays a key role in the company's success, whether they are in the Accounting and Finance Department, Marketing Department, Digital Media Department, Operations or Human Resources Department. Each student works together to execute a successful company that instills useful business skills in them to build upon.
