Concrete finisher/consultant wanted I would like to find a (likely retired, though not necessarily, perhaps moonlighting) experienced concrete guy/finisher to help me in the forming, pour, and finishing of a modest concrete patio at my home. I am trying to save myself some money by doing most of the manual labor myself, since I am retired. What I need is someone with experience to be my technical expert, know all the requirements of the Florida Building Code, figure out what needs to be on my shopping list at Home Depot, show me how to make and secure my forms, be available for technical questions, help me bend some rebar, if necessary, and then be there with tools on pour day to supervise and execute the finishing of the concrete, which I might want to stamp, as well. I will pay you whatever is appropriate, though, obviously, that depends on your skill and experience, and also whether the cost of someone will exceed what I would pay to have a contractor come in and do the job. (I have a long list of posers, unsavory types and disappointing contractors who happen to be in this business, which is why I am going this route.) If you are interested, please send me your full name, your license number, if you still have one, contact information, your availability, a brief but detailed statement of your experience doing concrete work, and what you'd expect to be compensated for your time, hourly or for the whole shebang, to provide the assistance described above. I'd like to get this project done in the next 30 days. Felony criminal records are probably disqualifying. FYI.
