WESTFIELD, NJ — The mother of a local boy is grateful for the support her family is receiving after the 12-year-old was injured when he was clipped by a passing car at a busy Westfield intersection that Danielle Corso believes that people need be cautious about. Vincent Corso was walking in the crosswalk at West Broad Street and South Avenue recently when the driver of a car trying to make a light clipped the boy's shoulder before driving off, according to TAPinto.com. Danielle Corso wrote in a Facebook post that the driver of the vehicle did not stop, but that she is grateful that another motorist stopped to make sure Vincent was OK. Vincent's injuries did not require medical attention, Corso wrote in the post, and her son woke up in the night with some swelling, sore and bruised. The outpouring of support arrived after Corso's social media post. The owner of a local pizza shop, Burim Regaj, who operates Out of Hand Pizza, offered up a pizza. A local dentist, Paul Banks, came through with an order of dessert for the boy and his family, the site reported.
