Press release from the City of Baton Rouge: March 16, 2021 BATON ROUGE, La. – Republic Services is suspending recyclable collections for one week beginning Tuesday, March 16, through Monday, March 22, to further assist with debris cleanup from the recent winter storm. The pause in recyclable collections will allow Republic Services to increase trucks collecting storm debris along the normal service routes. Recycling will be serviced on the next service day. This week marks the fourth week of winter-storm debris cleanup, which is about 65% complete. An estimated 80,000 cubic yards of debris will be collected during the cleanup, which is about 50% more debris compared to Hurricane Delta cleanup.
