DARIEN, CT — One vehicle was reported stolen, and three more were burglarized in recent days in Darien, the latest vehicle break-ins in town, according to police. In a separate case, police arrested a New York man earlier this month in connection with a January vehicle break-in. The stolen vehicle, an unlocked 2020 Audi, was swiped from the driveway of a home on Shipway Road on Saturday night. Both sets of keys had been left inside the vehicle, which police said was stolen between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Also on Saturday, Darien police received a complaint that a 2017 Chevrolet SUV was burglarized, and a wallet containing bank cards, checks and identification was taken. The owner learned of the break-in at about 6 a.m. when a CVS in Waterbury alerted her that someone had tried to use one of the stolen cards at the store. The attempted charge was declined. In the other incident from last week, a 2018 Audi and 2014 BMW, both left unlocked, were broken into in the driveway of a home on Allwood Road. Though the insides of both vehicles were rifled through, nothing was taken, according to police. Earlier this month, Darien police arrested an East Elmhurst, New York, man on warrant charging him with third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle and sixth-degree larceny. The arrest of Jonathan Millan, 19, was in connection with a vehicle break in at the Country Club of Darien on Mansfield Avenue on Jan. 19. Stolen was $50 to $60 in cash from the unlocked vehicle's center console, according to police. "A review of the security camera footage showed two males entering the victim's vehicle and leaving the property in a black Honda Accord with a visible New York license plate," Darien police said. "Using the license plate officers were able to identify the driver as Jonathan Millan, who had been recently arrested for a similar crime in Garden City, NJ." Millan surrendered to Darien police on March 4, and was released after posting bond on bail of $50,000; he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on April 6.
