Princeton School Board Approves Tentative Budget For 2021-22

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton School District Board of Education on Tuesday voted to approve a tentative budget of $108.2 million for the 2021-22 school year. According to the budget proposal, the school district will raise 80.4 million through local taxes and an additional $6.3 million will be paid by taxpayers for debt service. Before the presentation, interim school superintendent Barry Galasso said the budget would "return us to normal." "Our 'A' plan next year is to be fulltime, in-person for all of our students," said Galasso. "This budget represents the ability not only to staff our schools properly in September... but it also provides for an opportunity to develop a robust summer program for our students." Galasso said the budget was "respectful of the taxpayers" and represents the quality the Princeton community expects from the school district.
