Press release from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office: March 17, 2021 DATE: Wednesday, March 17, 2021 SUBJECT: Strong Armed Robbery Suspect Captured by Deputies RELEASE NUMBER: 2021-NR-012 CONTACT: Sheriff Dave Wedding AUTHORITY: Sheriff Dave Wedding On Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 at 12:41am, Evansville Police Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a white 1996 Jaguar XJ6 for an equipment violation near the intersection of Main Street and Iowa Street. After briefly stopping, the driver (later identified as Kyle Edward Vincent) sped away in an attempt to evade arrest. Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputies were nearby and engaged in the vehicle pursuit after Vincent's sedan nearly struck a deputy's vehicle. The pursuit continued for several minutes before deputies successfully deployed a tire deflation device. Even with deflated tires Vincent continued for nearly two miles before finally stopping. Vincent barricaded himself within his vehicle, but finally surrendered after hearing release warning commands from a Sheriff's Office K-9 handler.
