MONMOUTH COUNTY - In partnership with Ocean Health Initiatives (OHI), officials from LD-11 have opened vaccination appointments to disability community members.
The ADA defines an individual with a disability as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity. Locals with disabilities can register here.
Seniors ages 65 and older are also eligible for the initiative (register here). As of March 17, registration for seniors is available for residents of the following municipalities:
Asbury Park Eatontown Freehold Township Neptune City Neptune Township Ocean Township Red Bank Shrewsbury Tinton Falls West Long Branch Small business and restaurant owners can register for the vaccine here.

The Monmouth County Division of Transportation is also offering free transportation to and from vaccine sites to seniors and residents with disabilities who have a scheduled COVID-19 vaccination appointment. To register for a trip, call the Monmouth County Division of Transportation at (732)-431-6480 and select option 1.
Gov. Phil Murphy also confirmed this month that shipments of the coronavirus vaccine were to be received at Rite Aid and CVS locations. Other vaccination sites around Monmouth County include Wegmans, ShopRite, Stop and Shop, Walmart and Sam's Club.
