Looking for young male dog

Description

My parents recently lost their dog of 14 years. With my mom being home all day unable to work, and with my retired grandpa there, they've found it feels empty and lonely without their best friend. My dad's deepest connection was to his dog. Because of their age and health, we're looking for a dog that is between 3-5 years old at most. My mom wants to make sure they'll be around for several more years before having to say goodbye again. It MUST be a male. The dog must know to go outside to go to the bathroom. However, he will be an inside dog with access to a huge backyard and another playmate. This playmate is an 11 year old wolf hybrid that is very protective against strangers and female dogs. She got along great with the last dog. She's older but still very playful and enjoys romping around with another four legged friend. She's fixed so it's probably ideal that the male we take in is as well so no tension is created. He will sleep on a bed like a human, because that's how Buddy was treated. Spoiled and very loved. My dad and grandpa take the dogs for walks every day it's not raining out so no worries there either. It's preferred if the dog does not test positive for any health conditions that could get costly. Their last dog had seizures beginning around age 9 and it killed my parents finances to work out treatment, but they never thought twice about it. I just don't want to put them in a spot where the dog will require just as much medical attention as the senior people living in the house. Obviously, free is helpful if the dog fits the description. But if there is a fee, I'd ask it to be reasonable, as I would try to pay it without letting my parents know a fee existed.
