The City is in the process of developing its annual budget for the 2021/2022 fiscal year— and we want to know your budget priorities. With the social and economic impacts of COVID-19 on our community, your feedback on this year's budget is more important than ever. You can help guide the City's budget process by prioritizing the City service areas that are most important to you. In September 2020, while addressing the City's $5.7 million deficit, the Novato City Council made the difficult decision to approve over $3.5 million in budget cuts, including reductions to both services to the community and staffing levels. Even with these decisions, the ongoing deficit is projected to be $2.1 million this fiscal year. Please take our survey and share your feedback to help guide the City Council through this year's budget priorities at novato.org/opennovato. Survey closes on Wednesday, April 7 at 12pm.
