LAKE ZURICH, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a man killed early Monday evening in a single-vehicle crash as Tyler Wills, 39, of Lake Zurich. Preliminary autopsy results show he died due to blunt force trauma, according to a statement from the coroner's office Tuesday. Authorities responded to the sole-vehicle crash at about 4:50 a.m. Monday. A preliminary investigation shows a 2011 Ford sedan heading south on Lions Drive lost control at 70 E. Main Street, according to a news release from the Lake Zurich Police Department. The car hit two electric boxes and a decorative brick wall near a transformer, Lake Zurich Police Chief Steve Husak told Patch in an e-mail response. Wills was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The crash closed Main Street at Old Rand Road and Route 22 for several hours Monday. The collision, which happened near Lake Zurich Village Hall, also led to the closure of the building on Monday due to a power outage. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
