SEASONAL WEED SPECIALIST – TEMPORARY "GIVE NOXIOUS WEEDS A HAND – AND PULL!" *APPLY AT WWW.KCGOV.US AND ATTACH COVER LETTER AND RESUME TO ONLINE APPLICATION* THE POSITION: Provides quality technical support and education to landowners and public land managers throughout Kootenai County to implement sound site-specific land stewardship practices, including, but not limited to, control of noxious weeds, pasture/vegetation management, fertilization and erosion control. • $15.00 per hour • Six (6) month seasonal position generally running from April to September • Non-benefited position View full job description. DO YOU QUALIFY? • Do you have a high school or general education (GED) diploma? • Do you possess or have the ability to obtain a valid driver's license, and are you insurable? • Do you have a current Professional Applicators License, or within 90 days of employment, successfully obtain licensure as Professional Applicator in State of Idaho in the categories of Laws & Safety and Agricultural Herbicides? • Do you have the ability to be certified as a Weed Free Forage Inspector within six (6) months of employment? • Do you have the State of Idaho Boaters Safety Program certification? THIS IS THE JOB FOR YOU IF: • You enjoy seasonal work, generally April to September. • You have considerable knowledge of, or ability to identify plants, weeds or exotic plants. • You have or can obtain a working knowledge of the Idaho State Noxious Weed Law; County and State weed lists and procedures governing the implementation of the law. • You are able to understand and give details on pesticide labeling to the general public. • You are able to find internet sources and reference materials; understand effective methods of weed control, herbicide mode of action and agricultural practices. • You are able attend seminars, conferences, or training courses to keep the Idaho Department of Agriculture Professional Applicators license current.
