PHILADELPHIA — Two Philadelphia hospitals are ranked among the best in the country by Newsweek.
The magazine released its "World's Best Hospitals" for 2021, which included 15 Pennsylvania hospitals among the top 200 in the U.S.
Among the best were Penn Presbyterian Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Penn Presbyterian was named the best hospital in Pennsylvania and the 16th best hospital in America.
As for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Newsweek ranked it third best hospital in Pennsylvania and the 72nd best in the nation.
Both facilities were also listed by Newsweek as performing above average for infection prevention.
In its methodology, Newsweek explained that it looked at three data sources to compile the rankings: recommendations from medical experts, results from patient surveys and medical KPIs on hospitals.
