Description

Come along for a guided stroll through historic downtown Palatka and its murals. Includes three Bartram sites. Come join us on a quiet stroll along Palatka’s riverfront to learn of William Bartram’s passion about the place we live and its nature. We will walk the site he wrote about in TRAVELS saying “They were civil, and appeared happy in their situation.” And, “We were received and entertained friendlily by the Indians, the chief of the village conducting us to a grand, airy pavilion in the center of the village.” Our heritage is on display by visiting the St. Johns River Center, the Bartram kiosk, the Puc Puggy playground, the iconic 1st Presbyterian Church and the Bartram mural. The stroll will begin and end at the St. Johns River Center. Reservations recommended.
