EAGAN, MN— Eagan residents gave their city high ratings in the biennial National Community Survey, the city said. The survey asks residents questions that essentially describe what makes a community a good place to live, and a place where people want to live, the city said. This year, the surveys were sent to 2,700 random households and the city received 522 responses, the city said. "The National Community Survey allows us to gauge our residents' perceptions about the city, track results over time, and make regional and national comparisons with 600 cities," the city said. At least 95 percent of residents said they would recommend living in Eagan and they plan to live in Eagan for the next five years, the city said. At least nine out of ten residents gave positive responses about the overall image and reputation of Eagan, as well as the city's overall safety, the city said. "It's gratifying to hear such positive regard from the Eagan community; stronger ratings affirm where we are performing particularly well, and others point us to things we can work on to improve our level of service to residents," Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire said.
