Two Central Bucks Cops Recognized For Life-Saving Efforts

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Officer Jonathan Hannahoe was working his afternoon shift on Feb. 18 when he got the call: a 71-year-old man suffered sudden cardiac arrest while shoveling snow on Steeple Chase Drive. The Central Bucks Regional Police officer happened to be nearby and sprung into action. He was the first to respond for help, followed soon after by Doylestown Township Police Sgt. Robert Jones. The men used an automated external defibrillator and performed life-saving CPR to help David Woodbury regain consciousness before the ambulance arrived. The two cops received the Life Saving Award from the Doylestown Township Police Department during a recognition ceremony at the Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday. Woodbury's wife, Ginger, and their son, Bradley, appeared at the ceremony on behalf of David, who was resting at home. Doylestown Police Chief Dean Logan said the officers' quick response and immediate actions directly resulted in saving the man's life. "A failure to act or a delay to react by the officers could have led to a tragic outcome," Logan said. Township Manager Stephanie Mason thanked the officers for their efforts. "On behalf of the board and all the residents in Doylestown Township, you make us proud," she said. "We're very grateful for your service and your skills.
