Excel Ltd. is a control panel manufacturer specializing in street lighting control, located in Grayslake, IL (corner of Route 120 and Atkinson Road). We build many of the lighting controllers for IDOT (Illinois), CDOT (Chicago), WISDOT (Wisconsin), and INDOT (Indiana). We are looking for individuals who have previous electrical control experience (wiring control panelboards, switchgear, etc.), are comfortable using power tools and hand tools, and can read blue prints / wiring schematics. It is rare to find candidates with street lighting control experience, so we do understand that there will be a learning curve and some on-the-job training required. Electrician / Control Panel Builder Job Description: - Electrical knowledge required - Experience in wiring electrical components (Circuit Breakers, Control Relays, Lighting Contactors, Selector Switches, Pilot Lights, GFCIs, etc.) required - Print labels and tag all wires, cables, devices, and equipment neatly and properly - Troubleshoot basic electrical problems including taking voltage and amp readings, tracing wiring, evaluating relays, testing switches, evaluating health of wiring, checking breakers and fuses, etc. - Route control wiring and terminate connections in switches, transformers, junction boxes and control devices - Drill, tap, punch and cut/cutout holes in stainless steel and aluminum to mount panel and machine components - Assemble, build, and wire industrial control panels to UL and NEC standards - Draft/read assembly drawings and schematics
