Veterans Honor Walk is a walk to honor and celebrate those who have served our country in the military. Veterans Honor Walk is a walk to honor and celebrate those who have served our country in the military. All proceeds go to Veterans of Log Base Seitz. (Organization donated to changes yearly.) I was looking for a Nonprofit Organization that was as close to home as possible, that’s when Jennifer Sporleder contacted me about VLBS. Jennifer explained to me what VLBS was all about and I explained to her what my vision is for Veterans Honor Walk, we are Both very passionate about how Our Veterans are treated during and after the transition from Serving Our Country to Civilian life, there were definitely some tears shed during this conversation. VLBS is made up from Veterans from the 1544th Division based in Paris IL, they were deployed to Log Base Seitz in 2003 and lived through an Absolute Nightmare while trying to deliver Mail and Supplies along some of Iraq’s most deadly roads . They lost 5 Brothers and Sisters to roadside IED’s, and the Division earned 32 Purple Hearts. To help this hit home a little more, these Veterans and their Brothers and Sisters who they lost, were around the same age as my son and the other young men and women in our community who have recently joined the Military. As Veterans Honor Walk is 100% nonprofit 100% of your donations will be going to VLBS to help these Veterans get the counseling needed for PTSD among other services that they provide. But besides those services they do something that is pretty fantastic! Every year they have a retreat and your donations will help pay for the Veterans who cannot afford to come to the retreat that look so forward to it! I am beyond excited to be part of something that can make this happen!!
