Indie/Baroque/Trip-Pop Band Seeks Drummer
Meets
Kansas City MO
Description
Hello, musicians! Being cautiously optimistic about the pandemic's outlook, we're beginning to seek a drummer to join our core lineup of almost 7 years. Someone like-minded in work ethic, taste, and can be available for weekly/twice-weekly practices and for shows every couple months. Must be able to play to a click/metronome, have good gear, and transportation. Would be cool if they're into using a pad along with their kit (Roland SPD-SX, etc). "Age ain't nothin' but a number," but our music generally appeals to early 20s - early 40s. Current members age range is 30-37. Our line up - Vox/viola, cello/keys, guitar/keys, guitar/keys/trombone/trumpet, and bass. All members have good gear. Pre-pandemic we're pretty close-knit and a family of sorts. We watch football games together with each other's SOs, celebrate birthdays, eat and drAnk, etc. We're all LGBTQ-friendly, 420-friendly, and Black Lives Matter. We've played countless shows with local bands, we've opened for national acts, and we've won local awards. We've produced a 4-song demo, a 5-song E/P, and two live videos. We're currently in the home stretch of producing a full-length album which has been stalled by the pandemic. Immediate goals - Find a drummer who wants to begin practicing with us as soon as it's safe to do so. We have about two albums worth of material to work with and we've all been working on new music individually with hopes of being able to collaborate in-person soon. We hope to be show-ready in time with the rest of the country. Long term goals - We want to collaborate in a passionate hobby, play good shows, and have fun producing good content. We're lucky enough to have the resources and experience to do so. Obligatory styles, etc - See links below. Our early stuff was sort of an indie meets american vibe. Yet-to-be released album is a bit more on the indie meets jazz/trip-hop spectrum. Excited to see what comes together with a new drummer...! Portishead, Feist, My Brightest Diamond, Warpaint, Cat Power, St. Vincent, PJ Harvey; etc. Will be practicing in the Midtown area when it all resumes.
