Hi and thank you! I have a Master of Arts in composition and I have worked in music for almost 20 years. I'm currently the principal pianist of The Portland Ballet and a prolific freelance composer. In our lessons, I focus on establishing an understanding of music, so the student can enjoy the inner workings and get creative with their own music. Music theory helps focus on developing your own personal songwriting/composition style. Students have frequent opportunities to write for live ensembles and have their works performed in our professional space. Check out the pictures! An hour lesson is $75; $40/half hour.
