READING, MA — The Reading Public Schools surveyed district workers on where they are in the vaccination process last week as it plans to phase in in-person learning. Superintendent John Doherty shared the results in a letter to families Sunday. There were 551 people surveyed. Of those, 19.6 percent have been fully vaccinated, 28.1 percent have had one dose and a second scheduled, 19.1 percent have their first appointment scheduled and 33.2 percent have not received any vaccination, nor have they scheduled an appointment. The district will hold two community forums this week on the plan to transition to in-person learning: Tuesday at 6 p.m. https://readingpsma.zoom.us/j/86125528332Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. https://readingpsma.zoom.us/j/87000976914 Doherty will also update the School Committee at its Thursday meeting. Pooled testing last week yielded all negative results out of 164 pools of 10 samples or fewer, Doherty said. There was one positive student case at Reading Memorial High School, resulting in two staff members and two students being quarantined.
