Traveling technicians will receive a weekly per diem amount to pay for food and living expenses during their stay in the town nearest the remote project. If you enjoy working outside and collecting data that is key to the proper construction of a building or other structure, then becoming an Engineering Technician may be the perfect fit for you! A qualified applicant would have at least 6 months of experience in Materials Testing and must hold valid ACI Level I Cerification! This position exists for the purpose of providing testing observation on the assigned field project according to the applicable specification for independent testing laboratories. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sample preparation, collection & testing, field observations, and documentation of construction activities on site pertaining to soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt. The position requires the incumbent to clearly identify, verbally communicate, and document test results and activities. This position is paid hourly and is eligible for overtime. The starting rates begin at $16.00 an hour and increases depending on level of experience in materials testing and general construction. All traveling technicians are paid weekly or monthly per diem based on their duration at a project.
