Description

MILTON, MA — The Town of Milton has received $120,075.77 from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's (MassDOT) Complete Streets Funding Program to improve the safety of the intersection of Brook Road, Reedsdale Road, and Central Avenue. The MassDot Complete Streets Funding Program was founded to help communities create streets that provide safe options for all types of transportation, including walking, biking, transit, and vehicles. Following state approval, the Town of Milton developed a Complete Streets Prioritization Plan in 2018, which ranked projects to access up to $400,000 in funding each year for approved projects. Eligible projects include bicycle lanes, new or improved sidewalks, curb ramps, improved pedestrian crossings, benches, bus shelters, and more. The most recent round of funding will help the town make the dangerous intersection at Brook, Reedsdale, and Central safe and accessible for travelers. More information about the project can be found here.
