Initial dose COVID vaccination clinic for those that meet Iowa eligibility administered by Taylor County Public Health . This is an initial dose COVID vaccination clinic administered by Taylor County Public Health intended for those eligible for their first dose of vaccine according to Iowa's vaccination shortage guidance. By registering you are attesting to being eligible for receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. Persons are eligible if: • Aged 65 years and older • Aged 18-64 years at are or might be at an increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 due to medical conditions listed HERE • Fall in phase 1A or 1B priority populations listed HERE • If you are questioning your eligibility call 712.523.8738 before registering You will be administered the Moderna vaccine which is a 2-dose vaccine. You will need to return in 28 days. You will return at the same time as your initial appointment. The location will also remain the same for your second dose. You will receive a reminder card for of your second dose appointment. We ask that you please keep the scheduled second dose appointment, as the vaccine will be held for you and is a valuable resource to public health. The clinic will be held in the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Bedford. The church is West of Bedford on Highway 2, is 1500 Industrial Ave, Bedford, IA 50833. Please drive to the south side of the church to park and enter in the south door. Handicap accommodations can be made. Call 712.542.8738 for assistance. Upon arrival, individuals have an opportunity to read and sign the vaccine waiver, then will be called to the vaccination area. Administering the vaccine generally takes no longer than 5 minutes. All individuals receiving vaccines will be asked to wait in an observation area for 15-30 minutes with medical staff to ensure there are no adverse initial reactions. Those receiving the vaccine may experience immune responses such as: pain at the injection site, fever, chills, tiredness, headache, and/or body aches. Items to bring: • Please bring your driver's license or government issued ID • Please bring your ticket you receive in your email in print or on your smart phone • If available, please bring your insurance card (you will not receive a bill for the vaccination, IT IS FREE TO ALL). ***Not having insurance will not be a barrier to receiving the covid vaccination. Other Please be mindful that vaccinations are in high demand, so it is important that you view and print your confirmation email, which is the ticket for your appointment time. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE EARLIER THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT! This allows for optimal flow and safety of our clinic. NOTE: If you have had a severe allergic reaction to vaccine in the past, call the Taylor County Public Health office at 712.523.8738 prior to registering. REMINDER: If you have had a vaccine within 2 weeks, you will wait need to register until 2 weeks after that vaccination.
