NEW YORK CITY — New York City on Tuesday was set to surpass 3 million shots of coronavirus vaccine that went into arms Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said. The milestone puts the city more than halfway toward de Blasio's goal of 5 million vaccinations by June — a goal that once seemed unrealistic amid persistent vaccine supply shortages. De Blasio said despite the progress that more doses are needed. "I think you're going to guess we're about to say: 'Supply, supply, supply,'" he said, repeating a frequent mantra. "We could be doing so much more if we had more supply and we're working closely with the Biden administration to get that done." The city last week gave out more doses — 372,469 — that it has any other seven-day span since the vaccination effort began, de Blasio said.
