Vaccine Eligibility Expanded In Prince George's County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Prince George's County Health Department entered stage 1C of its immunization plan on Monday. The county has accepted preregistration for this wave since Jan. 25, but residents in this batch are only now eligible for the shot. These Prince Georgians can now get the coronavirus vaccine at county-operated clinics: Everybody aged 65 to 74 Public safety and public health care workers not covered in Phase 1A Grocery store, food and agriculture, postal service and public transit workers Other essential workers at high risk for exposureClergy and religious leadershipHospital patients with certain conditions Those in phase 1C are were previously eligible at the state and private sites in Prince George's County. Residents in stages 1A, 1B and 1C can now get the inoculation at county, state or private clinics. Health officials project that the county will wrap up phase 1C by the end of April. An estimated timeline and list of who is eligible in each stage is posted at this link. Anybody who lives or works in Prince George's can sign up to get the vaccine at a county clinic on this webpage. Registration for state and private sites is available here. Everybody in phases 2 and 3 can still preregister for the shot. They won't get it yet, but health officials will contact these residents when it's their turn. Prince George's County still has the lowest full immunization rate in Maryland. The county is speeding up its rollout and improving its coronavirus metrics, however.
