After nearly a year of shutdown to families, some nursing homes are starting to reopen where families are making appointments with the facility to visit their loved one in person. This is only open to families, various services, like hair styling and barber, are still not permitted to reopen their businesses inside of the nursing home. Before & After: 82 year-old resident Miriam Moore from Fort Edward begins to get her treatment from nursing student Haley Straut of South Glens Falls. After, Miriam models a magnificent job by Haley So Glens Falls Center Recreation Director Marijo Natale and her team on Sherman Avenue in Glens Falls decided to start a new program called "Glens Falls Center Serenity Spa", a service that has brought in nursing students from the South Adirondack Education Center in Hudson Falls. These students are completing their clinical rotation with Glens Falls Center by providing a professional spa treatment and the residents are extremely happy. Barbara Yedlowski, 73, of Indian Lake is looking great "These students are doing such an amazing job with shampooing, styling, hands and face moisturizing, nails clipping, painting and a delicious massage," said Natale. "Given that we are striving towards normalcy, our residents need to feel it too." 95 year-old Raymond Palmer from Queensbury always wants to look good. These spa sessions take place on Fridays.
