POINT PLEASANT BORO – Point Pleasant Boro students must quarantine for 14 days if they're out-of-state for spring break, Superintendent Vincent Smith said on Monday. Smith said the district is approaching the final stretch of the school year and he knows many families enjoy their opportunities to travel during the spring recess. "It is important to remember New Jersey still has a travel quarantine in place. Traveling out of state requires you to be familiar with the mandatory quarantine relative to exclusion from school," he said. Currently, students must quarantine for 14 days after returning to New Jersey from outside of the immediate region (NY, PA, CT, DE). Students who travel during the spring recess will be able to return to school after quarantining for 14 days. It is important to keep children home when they do not feel well and when they are identified as close contacts of an individual who is COVID-19 positive. "I encourage you to err on the side of being conservative when determining if your child should remain home," he said. "Since all students may attend school virtually, we have an ideal solution for our families in that there is no need to send any child to school with symptoms." For COVID-19 Vaccinated High School Students: Fully vaccinated persons who have close contact with someone with COVID-19 do NOT need to quarantine if they meet all of the following criteria:1) Are fully vaccinated (i.e. more than 2-weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or morethan 2-weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine), AND2) Are within 90 days following receipt of the last dose in the series3) Have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure, AND4) Documentation of vaccination status submitted to the school nurse Fully vaccinated high school students are required to quarantine for 14 days following travel to a U.S. state or territory beyond the immediate region (NY, PA, CT, DE), and/or all international travel. As always, thank you for your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please
