South Bend Career And Technical Education Students To Be Honored Tonight

From the South Bend Community School Corporation: March 16, 2021 Eighty-three Career and Technical Education (CTE) students in the South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) will be formally inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a ceremony on Tuesday, March 16, at 6:00 p.m. in the John Adams High School auditorium. NTHS recognizes students for their achievements in career and technical education. The evening will honor 31 inductees for the class of 2020 and 52 inductees in the class of 2021. Both cohorts will be celebrated at this event, as last year's ceremony was canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Students are from all four SBCSC high schools and are in CTE advanced programs, thus earning college and career pathway credits and certifications in their fields. All inductees have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average, had fewer than three absences, demonstrated their dedication to the community through at least fifteen hours of community service, and have been commended by their instructors through a letter of recommendation to the NTHS. Rudy and Cecilia Monterrosa of Monterrosa Law Group, LLC will address the classes. NTHS members will receive a certificate, an official diploma seal, a graduation tassel, a lapel pin, and a window decal. CTE students can earn professional certification and dual college credits as they progress through their program of choice. The SBCSC offers 22 CTE programs, including aviation technology, graphic design, welding technology, construction technology, emergency medical services, and logistics and supply chain management.
