ORLAND PARK, IL — A house fire blazed on Sunday afternoon in Orland Park that lead to multiple fire departments coming to stop the flames, according to the Orland Fire District. Around 1:37 p.m. Sunday, the fire district said it responded to the 13900 block of Springview in Orland Park, after multiple 911 calls reported a house fire. The a two-story, single-family residence blaze also exposed flames to a home just north of the location, the fire district said. When firefighters got there they encountered heavy smoke and fire in the rear of the home. The fire district said that due to gusty winds, heavy smoke and fire conditions, the alarm was upgraded to a box alarm, and fire crews utilized multiple lines to quickly extinguish the fire. When crews were extinguishing the flames, the rear windows of the home broke out. The fire district said crews were able to keep the fire on the exterior of the home and out of the living area, and homeowners were home and escaped without injuries prior to the department's arrival. The Orland Fire District Origin and Cause team is investigating the fire, and the cause is still unknown at this time. The district said the neighboring home North of the residence only received minor damage. The Orland Fire District said it was assisted by Palos Fire, Northwest Homer Fire, Lemont Fire, Tinley Park Fire and Homer Fire District when putting out the flames. Other MABAS fire departments covered Orland stations and further calls for service, according to the district.
